for the love of pinterest

I have only been on Pinterest for about two months. But the love fire is still burning bright. Maybe it's just the interface, but I really like being able to just scroll through pretty pictures. No muss or wordy fuss.

And for the crafty set, there is an abundance of darling craft ideas, cooking delights and diy mania to be found on pinterest. With Valentine's Day approaching, I took advantage of the sharing to copy a great idea for each of mah boys.

Here are the ideas I *borrowed*...

From dandee-designs. Found via pinterest

From a small snippet. Also via pinterest.

Most of the supplies I already had on hand. The bouncy balls and pop rocks found and purchased online. I then found 2 stamps at Michaels for $1 each to add to the craftiness and here's what I made:

Ta daa!

And to continue with the re-releasing of old photos, here are some pictures taken from February 2007. Nearly five years ago! Of course, little Archer wasn't born yet, and Bishop was about 22 months old here. Some pictures include friends of ours who have moved away. On the other side of town, and on the other side of the country. We miss seeing their beautiful faces. And my how the kids have grown...

absence & archives

This blog is starting to reflect the actuality of the way I lead my life. Large gaps of time passed by, unexplained, nothing to show for it. Looking back thinking, "What did I do with all that time?" Good gravy, I could have written a book, lost those 20 pounds, cleaned the hallway closet in the last six months.

Is that the same laundry pile from six months ago?

The same one next to the giant fuzzy lint ball I must have missed with the vacuum six months ago?

The truth is mundane, but factual. The last six months have been filled with the everyday. The everday that occupies my every minute. My two sweet boys who are at once a slice of heaven and the source of this nagging migraine. They are getting bigger everyday. Learning something new everyday. I feel my memory getting weaker as I age and so I must focus on these little miracles or I will surely miss something.

And with the new year brings some cleaning of cobwebs. The huz and I managed to clear out the storage shed and properly store ancient memories in clear plastic bins to keep out the roaches. My next project is to clear out an old website of photos that have been laying untouched, with no additions for over two years. And during that process, I will share some here. Years old memories mixed with the ones we are making everyday.

Today's are of my oldest boy, who will be seven years old in just a few months. These taken just weeks after his birth. My little jaundiced conehead. I love you more everyday. xoxo.

And for comparison sake, one taken less than a month ago, Christmas morning 2011, with little brother.

It's going to be a great 2012.
